How to remove the paddle on an Actifry 2-in-1

Inserting / removing the paddle on an Actifry 2-in-1

The paddle on an Actifry 2-in-1 has a side button mechanism that is used in securing / unsecuring the paddle.

To lock the Actifry paddle into place

Put the bowl is in the machine.

Position the paddle over top the centre hole in the bowl. Ensure that the bowl is empty (at a minimum, ensure that the area you are going to be sitting the paddle on top of is free of obstruction.)

Push the paddle down. You will feel it lock into place.

There is nothing else you need to do; the button’s locking mechanism has automatically kicked in.

To unlock and remove the Actifry paddle

If you are not certain that paddle is cool, wear an oven mitt or wait till it is cool.

Do not remove paddle if there is still food in the bowl that would be at risk of spilling out / tumbling out through the centre hole.

If the top tray is in place, remove it using either oven mitts or the green and silver lifting mechanism built into the pan’s handle. Set it somewhere heat-safe if the pan is hot.

Put your thumb on the side button of the paddle. Press the button in, and holding it in still, use the rest of your hand to pull the paddle upwards and out of the bowl. Holding the button in keeps the auto-locking mechanism from kicking back in while you are trying to remove the paddle.

Place the paddle on a surface that it won’t stain or damage (if hot or dirty.) Do not place a hot paddle directly into water or under running water; if you need to soak it, wait a few minutes until cool and then soak it so as not to weaken the paddle thereby shortening its life span.
