When you are purchasing an Actifry™, I would strongly recommend to go for any offer of any extended warranty which is possible at the time.
My first Actifry 2-in-1 burnt out after 14 months of use (purchased June 2013; died August 2014.) Now, as some friends pointed out, it was heavily used: just about everyday of the week, and sometimes twice a day on Sundays. But when a small kitchen appliance is close to $400 US / £250 pounds UK, actually using it is part of the reason for justifying pay that price, non?
Here is a brief video showing what happened to that first Actifry 2-in-1:
I love my Actifry machines greatly. I believe they are brilliantly conceived, and can’t imagine living without one at this point.
However, with all due respect, I have to say that while they might be French in brilliance and cooking utility and greatness, German in engineering they are not.
So protect your investment by spending a little bit more to grab whatever extended warranty you can.
